Hindsight In 2020 #1: Looking Back

It's a new year. It's a new decade. And I'm starting a new blog. Throughout the years I've joked that I was going to start a blog. Well, today is the day.
I feel like a lot of people look to the future at the start of a new year. Whether they are looking at making changes to their life with resolutions, making plans for a trip with loved ones, or even thinking about changing jobs or professions. I've actually given thought to a few resolutions I should probably make this year. Yeah, I've got a lot of things I could change.
I should probably stop biting my nails. I mean, it's not good for your health and it definitely isn't pretty to watch. My wife is pretty good about noticing me biting my nails and then swatting my hand out of my mouth. Don't worry, there's no domestic abuse happening. She just loves me.
I really need to lose some weight. I'm not fat, at least when I'm standing up. But when I sit down my gut has started folding over my belt. I told my cousin that food taste better now that I'm older. That's the truth. The other night while watching a movie, my wife literally rubbed my belly in a circular motion. I laughed and then sucked my gut in.
Kind of in line with the above mentioned, I ate way too much fast food in 2019. From Taco Bell to Zaxby's and even McDonald's, their food is delicious but far from healthy. If my son didn't always ask for McDonald's after church, I might could stay away from that place. But the happy meals actually make kids happy, believe it or not.
Here's what I'm actually 'resolving' to do. This year, in 2020, I'm going to look back on some things in my life that have significantly impacted who I am as a person. These things could be decisions I made, interactions with other people, events that occured or anything really that molded me and made me... well... me. Each week I plan to share a story and reflect, knowing hindsight is 20/20, and discuss why that story was so important to my life and how one could learn from my situation.
Have a happy Fryeday!
